The king upon the throne

Royal Decree

Twenty souls must pass before the crown.

Spare them and they may return in another hour. Condemn them and the people judge your judgment. Choose poorly too many times and the kingdom riots.

How To Play

Rule, spare, condemn, survive

1. Read the scroll

Every petitioner arrives with a detailed list of crimes, a plea, and the square's mood.

2. Choose life or death

Spare them, take a bribe and spare them, or condemn them and choose one of five execution styles.

3. Protect happiness

The people cheer wise rulings and despise cruel or corrupt ones. If happiness falls to zero, the city revolts.

4. End the reign

All twenty petitioners must die before victory. Anyone spared returns later in random order.
