How To Play

You are the Moderator

Deddit Mod is a living, ugly little corner of the internet. NPCs post constantly — some are decent people, some are unhinged goblins who exist purely to ruin threads. Your job: keep the board running without letting it collapse into total chaos. Or let it collapse. Nobody's really stopping you.

The Feed

Scroll posts in the main feed. Upvote, downvote, or open a post to read comments. Every post and comment is generated live by an NPC with its own personality, grudge, and vocabulary.

Reports

Good-citizen NPCs will report bad actors straight to your Mod Queue. Review each report, open the offending profile, and decide.

Do Not Disturb Mode

Toggle the DND button in the top bar to stop report popups from interrupting you. Reports still appear in your Mod Queue — you just won't be interrupted by them. Turn it off whenever you want to stay on top of incoming complaints.

Mod Actions

Warn — a strike on their record. Three strikes and they're timed out.
Timeout Ban — removes them from the feed temporarily.
Permaban — flags their entire behavioral fingerprint. They'll still try to evade with a new account, but permabanned personas are hunted faster and their evasion odds tank over time.

Ban Evasion

Banned NPCs don't disappear — they lurk, then resurface under a new username and avatar, often bragging about it in their very next post. Sharp-eyed regulars sometimes clock the same typing tics and call it out in the comments.

The Chat

Open direct chat with any NPC. Type anything — they'll respond in-character. You can ban them mid-conversation if they cross a line (they always eventually do).

This is a Sandbox

There's no win state. There's no end screen. It's an endless, deteriorating comment section and you are its unpaid, unappreciated janitor. Have fun.
