Although it isn't necessary I highly recommend that you set a new password for your account. I've just updated our password hashing to the industry standard (The best possible) and by resetting your password it will automatically be hashed with the new hashing method. Before we all panic, it's nothing to be worried about, your passwords are currently hashed (with the old method) and you can log in normally with your current account password without any problems. Call me paranoid but I think it's important to upgrade our hashing methods and do all we can to keep our passwords safe and secure. I am sending this out to all of our members as it is important that you all know about this change. If you have any questions don't hesitate to contact me @HTML5Arcade.
That being said, when it comes to hacking, it's only worth hacking a site when there is a goal. One common goal is to gain access to a sites database to look for account information such as email addresses. As we need to use your email address to send you emails it's common practice to save it as plain text in the database. Meaning if the database was ever compromised they would obtain your email address. So I've now added encryption to the email system and encrypted everyone's email addresses automatically in the database. So we no longer have any information of any use to a hacker even if our database did ever get compromised.
Additionally as we allow for files to be uploaded to our site I decided to spend some time working on protecting the way that system works without getting into too many details. Also I've now patched a few problems when adding games and posts when using the google language translator. There's been more changes lately but mostly under the hood stuff. If you do ever run into any problems while using this site, please let me know!
