This could be the first of many emails you will receive from Play iDev Games... That's if you want it to be. At this moment in time this post is the first real test of email notifications hopefully it works well!
So what exactly will the email notification system do and how does it work? The email notification system will send you an email to your email address (the email address you signed up with). I will send an email through the system every time a new game is released, a new tutorial is posted, a new dev log is posted or when some site news like this is posted. Don't worry though, you can pick and choose what your notified about from your account
Also this is not an automatic system. Although the system makes it as easy as a click of a button, I will send the emails once I think the game or post is good enough to let other members know about what you posted. The same as I currently do now with twitter and facebook, I always post out anything once I've moderated it. So you don't have to worry about being spammed with junk (Not that anyone has ever posted junk on this site!).
The email notifications have come off the back of the recently improved commenting and rating system. I'm hoping that this will encourage former members back to the site as it has changed a lot! While also encouraging more interaction on the site.
Though keep in mind that this is a test. I'm not even sure if it'll work out or how we will continue with growth in the future. So please let me know if you received the email!
