BAD DOCTOR: A Medical Comedy of Errors™
Game Overview
Bad Doctor is a darkly comedic medical simulation game where you play as "Dr. Chaos" — a barely-licensed physician running a hospital shift with 20 sick patients. Your goal is to diagnose, treat, and (hopefully) cure them without killing everyone. It's a web-based game that runs entirely offline in your browser with no server required.
Core Gameplay
The Setup
20 randomly generated patients arrive at your hospital, each with unique illnesses from a database of 70+ medical conditions
Each patient has a name, age, gender, illness, vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, oxygen saturation, pain level), and a health score (0-100%)
Patients deteriorate every 15 seconds if left untreated, with health dropping and status changing from Alive → Critical → Dead
Player Actions
1. Talk to Patients
Click on any patient to view their medical chart
Type questions into a chat interface powered by an AI dialogue engine that recognizes:
Symptom inquiries ("what hurts?", "where is the pain?")
Medical history questions ("blood in stool?", "any allergies?")
Lifestyle questions ("do you smoke?", "how much do you drink?")
Simple responses and profanity (patients respond accordingly)
Patients respond dynamically based on their condition, personality, and your questions
Over 500+ contextual responses make conversations feel realistic and often darkly humorous
2. Prescribe Medications
Access a 40+ medication database including:
Antidepressants, antipsychotics, anxiolytics, mood stabilizers
Opioid and non-opioid analgesics
Antibiotics, cardiovascular drugs, diabetes medications
Muscle relaxants, anticonvulsants, corticosteroids
Choose dosage, frequency, duration, and add special instructions
Correct medication = healing
Wrong medication = side effects, reactions, or death
Dangerous combinati events
3. Perform Surgery
14 surgical procedures available:
Appendectomy, Cholecystectomy, CABG, Discectomy, Colectomy
Thrombectomy, Craniotomy, Ureteroscopy, and more
Correct surgery on correct patient = major health improvement
Wrong surgery on wrong patient = catastrophic health damage
Surgical complications are always possible even with correct procedures
4. Discharge Patients
Send recovered patients home when health is high enough
Premature discharge can lead to deterioration at home
Fast Forward 1 Week feature lets you see how discharged patients fare:
Day-by-day simulation shows medication effects playing out
Patients may recover fully, need readmission, or die at home
5. Observe
Get clinical observations and hints about the patient's condition
Helps with diagnosis without committing to treatment

The Experience
Bad Doctor is essentially Papers, Please meets Trauma Center with the dark comedy of The Stanley Parable. It challenges players to make life-or-death decisions with incomplete information while maintaining a consistently irreverent tone. Success requires actually paying attention to patient symptoms, cross-referencing medications, and thinking critically about treatment — or you can just prescribe morphine to everyone and see what happens (spoiler: nothing good).
The game walks a tightrope between being a legitimate medical simulation and a satirical comedy, creating an experience that's educational, challenging, and consistently funny in the darkest possible way.
