Orbital Artillery

Overview

Orbital Artillery is a turn-based space combat game that combines the classic artillery gameplay of Pocket Tanks with the gravitational physics of Gravity Wars. Command a fleet of starships in tactical orbital battles where gravity, positioning, and weapon selection determine victory.

Gameplay

Objective

Destroy all enemy ships before they destroy yours. The last fleet standing wins!

Game Modes

• vs AI - Battle against a computer opponent with smart targeting and weapon selection
• vs Human - Local 2-player hotseat multiplayer

Your Fleet

Each player commands a fleet of 6 ships:

• 1 Mothership - Larger, tougher flagship with more HP and shields
• 5 Fighters - Smaller, agile combat ships

Each ship has its own pilot with a unique name and portrait.

Turn Structure

1. Select a ship to fire from
2. Adjust angle (0-360°) to aim your shot
3. Adjust power (50-500) to control projectile speed
4. Select a weapon from your arsenal
5. Fire! and watch gravity bend your shot

Barrage Attack

Every 5 turns, you can unleash a Full Barrage - ALL your ships fire simultaneously! After the barrage, you get a bonus shot before your turn ends.

Movement

Ships can move or warp to reposition during battle. Each ship has limited moves per game.

Physics & Environment

Gravity

Planets and black holes exert gravitational pull on projectiles. Use gravity to:

• Curve shots around obstacles
• Slingshot projectiles for extra speed
• Trap enemies near black holes

Planets

• Normal Planets - Can be damaged and destroyed
• Bouncy Planets - Projectiles bounce off (2.5x HP)
• Black Holes - Indestructible, extreme gravity pull

Wormholes

Paired portals that teleport projectiles (and ships) across the map.

Screen Wrapping

Projectiles wrap around the top/bottom edges but are blocked by left/right walls.

Choose 5 weapons before each battle from a diverse arsenal including:

Combat Mechanics

Shields

Ships have regenerating shields that absorb damage before HP is affected. Shields appear as a glowing barrier around ships.

Damage

• Direct hits deal full weapon damage
• Splash damage affects nearby ships
• Critical hits possible on direct impacts

Ship Destruction

When a ship's HP reaches zero, it explodes spectacularly with debris and shockwaves.

Strategy Tips

1. Use gravity - Curve shots around planets to hit hidden enemies
2. Protect your Mothership - It's your strongest ship
3. Save powerful weapons - Limited ammo means smart choices
4. Position matters - Move ships to get better angles
5. Time your barrage - Use it when enemies are clustered
6. Watch the black hole - It can pull your shots off course
7. Bounce shots - Use bouncy planets for trick shots
8. Wormhole tactics - Teleport projectiles for surprise attacks

Victory

Eliminate all enemy ships to win! A victory screen displays the winning player/team.
