Our Ludo board went 3D in the October redesign, and 3D brings a problem flat boards never have: things can pass through each other. The die would be carried across the board and slide straight through a piece standing in its way. It looked wrong.
The fix is simple once you see it. A piece is now lifted before the die travels, so the die never meets it. The same rule went into Snakes and Ladders, where the die now comes to rest away from the counters.

Other changes this month:
- The board keeps the same perspective on phones and laptops, because the tilt now lives in the board's own transform.
- Dark mode plays the table at dusk instead of draining the colours.
- The crown in the centre is gone.
- Chat and player names are filtered for swear words, which matters at family tables.
Rules are the classic ones for 2 to 4 players, with a 30-second clock each turn. You can also play at playboardit.com.
