SCAMULATOR - Complete Game Description

Scamulator is a satirical comedy simulator game developed by happstoner5420 Games that puts you in the shoes of an incompetent tech support scammer working in a dingy call center. Built as an Electron desktop application, this parody game combines dark humor with strategic gameplay mechanics.

Game Concept & Premise

You play as "Agent SCAM-001" working for the fictional "TotallyLegit Tech Support Inc." - a ridiculously obvious scam operation. Your mission is to convince unsuspecting victims that their computers are infected with viruses or that they owe money to fake government agencies. The game is entirely satirical and explicitly states that no real scams are performed.

Core Gameplay Mechanics

Victim System

  • Randomly Generated Victims: Each game features procedurally generated victims with unique combinations of:
    • Names (from pools of 100+ first/last names)
    • Ages and occupations (70+ job types from "Retired Teacher" to "Crypto Bro")
    • Locations across America
    • Technical proficiency levels (from "Amish-tier" to "Hacker God")

Dynamic Meters System

Four key meters track your progress:

  • Trust Level (❤️): How much the victim believes you
  • Suspicion Level (🔴): How close they are to catching on
  • Panic Level (😨): Victim's fear and urgency
  • Scam Progress (💰): How close you are to success

Multi-Phase Scam Progression

The game progresses through distinct phases:

  1. Introduction - Initial contact and trust building
  2. Trust Building - Establishing credibility
  3. Fear Creation - Introducing fake problems
  4. Remote Access - Gaining control of their "computer"
  5. The Ask - Requesting payment/information
  6. Close Deal - Finalizing the scam

Interactive Features

Scam Tools Arsenal

  • Fake Virus Popup - Generate realistic-looking malware alerts
  • Fake BSOD - Simulate Blue Screen of Death
  • Tree Command - Show "hacking" progress with file tree displays
  • Event Log - Display fake system errors
  • System Scan - Run bogus security scans

Victim's Computer Screen

A fully interactive canvas-based simulation of the victim's Windows 11 desktop that you can manipulate in real-time during calls.

Dialog System

  • 5000+ Dialog Combinations: Massive branching conversation system
  • Context-Aware Responses: Dialog options change based on victim personality, phase, and meter levels
  • Personality-Driven Reactions: Victims respond differently based on their tech level and job

Win/Lose Conditions

Victory Conditions

  • Successfully extract all requested information (credit cards, bank accounts, SSN, gift cards)
  • Keep trust high while managing suspicion
  • Complete all scam phases within the turn limit

Failure Conditions

  • Suspicion meter reaches 100%
  • Victim hangs up or calls real authorities
  • Turn limit expires (20 turns max)
  • Trust meter drops too low

Technical Implementation
